Glad to hear that this 'cheat' worked, and another laptop lives again.
You may notice that muLinux does suffer a bit with only 2.7mb --it runs, but it
often thrashes, so that even a missing 1.3mb would help. With this in mind, a
few unsolicited notes...
I've tried 'tomsrtbt', which is another one-floppy Linux...
...the kernel in tomsrtbt can see about 3mb on the same laptop. Don't know why
tomsrtbt's kernel sees 3mb and mu's sees 2.7mb.
I've experimented by changing the settings in 'C:\linux\loadlin.cfg'. I can
get muLinux to see 2.88mb. I think commenting out a line that says "ram=4m" is
what helped. But memory config stuff is tedious to experiment with, because
every time you change one line, you need to reboot, which takes 3-5 minutes.
It's like the bad old days, fussing with MsDos memory manager settings...
maybe that is too severe though, really MsDos was worse.
