The best introduction to QED for *everyone*:
Richard P. Feynman "QED The Strange Theory of Light and Matter",
Princeton, 1985 (very cheap, my copy was $9.95 some years ago) at least in
the US. In UK it has been published by Penguin and in Italy by
Boringhieri.
And while you are on the road, read also "Surely You're Joking, Mr.
Feynman", also by R. P. Feynman, Bantam (1989), one of the finest books
I've ever read.
