DHCP client works on 7r5b. About Renato's question, the dhcpcd
feedback, ispecting the script /usr/bin/netconfig I noticed that:
the function report() is provided and never called, sorry!
The report() will works as a trick: the "netconfig" start a limited
loop, waiting for a network interface running, then report IP etc.
It cannot control directly the dhcpcd client.
Of course, this dhcpcd is a medieval binary: modern clients starts
also in foreground.
I add in attachement the netconfig.gz with the little fix.
I did this kind of changes in "netconfig" when PCMCIA support
was added in 7rx series. This is an attempt to unify eth & pcmcia & dhcpd
in a unique setup. The problem is, you guess it, the PCMCIA and HDCP
response are BOTH asyncronous (and both largely bugged :) )
Thanks Renato.
Michele
NOTE-NOTE-NOTE
----------------
I noticed that: some emails of mine reach the list with 1 week of
retard, accomplished with generic notes about failure, ORBS database,
etc, in a unpredictable way. Anyone got same problems?
